The aim of this space is to raise awareness and promote activities that generate understanding and social change, strengthening the voice of the LGTBIQA+ community at the Universidade de Vigo through actions that encourage their participation in the university community.

Far from having overcome its phobia of affective-sexual and gender diversity, part of today's society displays discriminatory attitudes and an irrational fear of interacting with people who do not fit into the traditional heteronormative model. Therefore, to guarantee a unanimous response that protects rights and respect for sexual and gender freedom, the Universidade of Vigo has developed a series of strategies and proposals that serve as a basis for establishing a coexistence that allows transformation and the inclusive participation of all people.

Protocol for changing the name and gender commonly used by transgender and intersex persons

This protocol is the instrument that guarantees the right of transgender, transexual, and intersex individuals in the university community to use the name and gender with which they truly identify in the internal procedures of the Universidade de Vigo, when these do not coincide with those used legally.
