NERTA is the computer application that manages the access to the Galician University System (SUG), specifically, the university entrance exams (ABAU, over 25 years old and over 45 years old) and the admission process to the official university degree courses.

Access to NERTA

Once they have finished the baccalaureate, in order to gain access to a university degree, students must pass the Baccalaureate Evaluation for University Entrance (ABAU) organised by the Ciug.

Structure of the test
The ABAU is structured in two parts:

Compulsory part:

It is made up of the four general subjects of the block of core subjects (Galician Language and Literature II, Spanish Language and Literature II, History of Spain II and First Foreign Language II) and the core subject of the corresponding modality (Fundamentals of Art II, Mathematics II, Mathematics applied to Social Sciences II or Latin II).

Voluntary part:

Baccalaureate students who wish to improve their admission qualification may sit a maximum of four subjects that they will choose from the rest of the subjects they did not sit in the compulsory part, weighted according to the weighting tables published by the CIUG for each degree.

Students who gain access through a Higher Level of Vocational Training may also sit the voluntary part in order to increase their admission mark.

The exam for each subject will last 90 minutes, with a 30-minute break between consecutive tests, in accordance with the timetable in Appendix III of the ABAU Enrolment Call.

Extraordinary call: 11, 12 and 13 July 2023
