Mapamundi-Erasmus

Outgoing students

General information

Students at the University of Vigo will be able to participate in the various calls for mobility that the Office of International Relations (ORI) publishes throughout the course. The calls are usually published the year before the course in which the stay will be enjoyed. It is very important to follow the news of the ORI through its announcements.

The program that holds the largest number of participants is the Erasmus+ program. Even so, there are other programs offered by Universidade de Vigo that also allow its students to gain scholarships in many countries on the rest of the globe (Mobility agreements, ISEP, GE4, etc) or in Spain (SICUE).

The ORI is currently immersed in a process of digitalization of all the administrative procedures related to the organization of mobility in the institutions to expedite the exchange of academic data of the students between them.

That is the reason why you must use the mobility portal to apply for mobility grants and create study contracts. The information on administrative procedures and requirements of each call will be explained in each of them.

The portal will be your management tool for mobility calls. In it you will find the mobility application forms, your mobility offers, your submitted applications, the study agreement (which will be signed from the portal by your coordinator of origin and destination) and you can also present all the documentation that is required from the ORI.

National mobility

The SICUE Program (the exchange program among Spanish universities) makes it possible for students to spend either half or an entire school year in a different university, depending on the agreement signed by the universities. The call gets published each February.

Erasmus+

The Erasmus+ program enables students to read for a degree recognised by the European institutions with which the Universidade de Vigo has signed collaboration agreements (Erasmus+ KA 131 with countries of the program) or with institutions from non-EU countries (Erasmus+ KA 171 with associated countries).
Undergraduate, master's and doctoral students can participate and be granted up to 12 months of scholarship in each of those courses of study.

The students interested in participating must be attentive to the calls that are published from the ORI and make the request following its instructions.

The Erasmus+ Internship program makes it possible for students enrolled in official degrees at Universidade de Vigo to do internships related to their studies in European companies and institutions in countries adhering to the program.

Newly graduated students may also participate under the condition that they do the internship on the following year to their graduation and apply for the internship while enrolled.

Internships may last a minimum of two to and a maxium of twuelve months.

The National Agencies of the Erasmus+ program have agreed to use a common platform for the publication of internship offers: Erasmus Intern.

This tool was developed by the Erasmus Student Network (ESN). The platform allows companies to register their internship offers and for students and organizations to search for interested companies, with filtering options that allow searches tailored to the objectives of each institution.

Other portals for internship offers in companies:

  • Eures - Plataforma de ofertas de empleo y prácticas en Europa
  • Eurodesk - Red europea de información y orientación

The Blended Intensive Programs (BIPs) are short-term intensive programs (between 5 and 30 days) part of the new Erasmus+ 2021/2027 Program and which use innovative learning and teaching methods, including online collaborative work.

By enabling new and more flexible mobility formats that combine physical mobility with a virtual component, intensive combined programs aim to reach all types of students, from any background, field of study and cycle.

Each Erasmus+ BIP is organized by a group of at least 3 universities from 3 different countries. UVigo can be the organizer of the programs, receiving participants from other institutions, or it can be participant itself and organize the call to send applicants who may be open to students and staff from the institutions.

The groups of students will work collaboratively as a team with the help of the professors of the participating institutions, combining a mandatory online work period and a face-to-face work period in which all students will travel to the country of the organizing university for a short mobility, usually a week.

In most cases, first you work online, and then the face-to-face stay is carried out to finish the project. Sometimes, the online activity can continue after the face-to-face work week.
