ECTS credits recognition
The rest may be recognised by the university, considering the suitability of the skills and knowledge acquired, either in other subjects or courses taken by the student or associated with previous professional experience, and those provided for in the curriculum that are of a cross-disciplinary nature.

Simultaneous enrolment
In order to enrol in more than one official university degree programme, you must be granted simultaneous enrolment prior to formalising your second enrolment, bearing in mind that you will not be granted simultaneous enrolment to study two degree programmes for the first time or the same degree programme at another university.
Consult the regulations on simultaneous enrolment to find out all the requirements you must meet.
You will begin the process on the online portal, for which you must have a valid means of electronic identification.
Academic certification
An academic certification is a document issued by Uvigo that certifies the status of your academic record at the time you request it. In addition to your personal details, it contains a summary of the credits for the degree and credits passed, subjects taken with the grades obtained, academic years completed, recognitions, if applicable, and the average grade for the degree.
For more information, please consult the regulations on academic certifications at UVigo.
When you request personal academic certification, you must pay the public fees established in the decree setting the public fees for academic and administrative services, in force during each academic year. You will only pay this amount once if you need the certificate to be issued in several languages at the same time.
You will not need to pay for the certificate if you need it to apply for a grant from any public or private body, provided that it states ‘that it is issued for the sole purpose of submitting the grant application’ or to attach to any UVigo procedure, when it states ‘that it is issued for the sole purpose of submitting...’.
You can apply for the certification at any time from the administrative units of the centres.
Transferring your academic record
The procedure for transferring your academic record is different if you are changing to another degree at UVigo or if you are transferring to another university. In the first case, it is an automatic procedure that is carried out when you formally enrol on the new degree through the virtual office. In the second case, you must initiate the process on the online portal, for which you must have a valid means of electronic identification. In this case, you must attach the admission decision from the other university so that the administrative unit of your centre can generate the form associated with this process.
Compensation assessment
Compensation assessment is the mechanism used to assess whether, overall, you have acquired sufficient knowledge and skills during your academic career to compensate for failed subjects, so that you can obtain your university degree without having to take further assessment tests. The TFG, work experience, practicum, and bridge course subjects will not be subject to compensation.
At the time of application, you must be formally enrolled in the subject or subjects to be compensated. In order to be granted compensation assessment, in addition to having no serious sanctions on your record, you must meet the following requirements:
- At least 50% of the credits for the degree must be taken at UVigo.
- You must have a maximum of two subjects remaining to graduate, which together must not exceed 12 credits (the TFG will not be counted). You cannot be compensated for more than 12 credits in your academic career.
- That you have exhausted at least four assessment opportunities in the subject or subjects requested in the last three academic years and that you have taken and failed one of the available opportunities in the academic year in which you are applying (unless you are unable to take the exam because you are enrolled in a study programme that is being phased out).
- That the grade obtained was not lower than 2 or that you were not assessed in any of the four opportunities.
You must submit your application via the online portal, for which you will need a valid means of electronic identification. You can submit your application during each assessment period, from the date the records are opened until 15 working days after the deadline for submitting them.
You will be granted automatic compensation for the subject or subjects requested after verification of compliance with all requirements and limitations, provided that you meet at least one of the following conditions:
-
You must have obtained at least once a grade equal to or higher than 4 or an average of over 3.5 between the two best grades in the subject or subjects to be compensated.
-
The average of your academic record must be equal to or higher than the average grade of your degree in the last graduating class eligible for teaching.
If neither of these circumstances applies to you, but you meet each and every one of the necessary requirements, your application will be accepted for processing so that the compensation committee can assess your overall academic record, particularly in the subject or subjects to be compensated and in related subjects (if any) and analyse any additional information it deems appropriate.
The committee may request a report from the teacher responsible for the subject, detailing all the activities carried out (assignments, exams, practical work, etc.).
Degrees and European supplement
Once you have completed your studies, you can request issuance of your qualification from the virtual office or the administrative unit of your centre. You will have to pay the corresponding fee as established in the decree setting the public fees for academic and administrative services, in force in each academic year.
Once payment has been verified and your personal details have been checked, the university will begin the process of issuing your university degree together with the European Diploma Supplement (EDS). This process takes approximately one and a half months.
Once you have received your final degree certificate and completed the necessary procedures, the administrative unit at your centre will inform you that you can collect it in person from the administrative unit at the centre, providing proof of your identity (by presenting your Spanish ID card, foreigner identification number (NIE) or passport), another person can be authorised, always by means of a power of attorney, or a request can be made in writing for the certificate be sent to the government delegation or sub-delegation (inspectorate of education office), embassy, or consular office closest to your place of residence.
If, for any reason, such as loss, destruction, damage or alterations resulting from changes to personal details or any other cause, you may request the issuance of duplicates, after cancelling the original certificate. This procedure is subject to the payment of the duplicate fee.
The procedure is initiated ex officio when the cause is attributable to the administration.
