Card:

If you select this option during the Online Self-Enrolment, you can pay immediately or within 30 calendar days by accessing the student virtual office (SVE) under “Pending payments”.

If the university does not receive this authorisation, the payment method will be automatically changed to a single cash payment.

During the Online Self-Enrolment, you must provide the account number, the Spanish Tax Identification Number (NIF), and the full name of the account holder. At the end of the process, the system will generate a SEPA authorisation form, which you must submit or send to the academic office of your faculty within 10 calendar days from the date of enrolment. The form must be signed either by hand or electronically by the account holder (whether it is you or another person).

Payments cannot be made by direct debit after 28 February.

It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that their banking information is kept up to date, that the account designated for the payments is active, that direct debit charges are authorised, and that the bank has completed the payment of the enrolment fee.

Changing the payment method

You may change the payment method by contacting your faculty’s academic office:

  • To change from cash/card to direct debit (single or in instalments): up to 7 days before the end of the payment deadline indicated on the payment slip.
  • For direct debits: From single to instalments or from instalments to single payment: until the 20th of the month prior to the scheduled debit date.
  • From direct debit to cash/card: also until the 20th of the month prior to the scheduled debit date.

No changes can be made after 20 February.

  • Universidade de Vigo allows tuition fees to be paid in six instalments at no extra cost, to make payment easier. See the Payment methods section for full conditions.
  • We also offer a UVigo-specific grant scheme for students experiencing financial hardship. If you intend to apply for one of these grants, you must tick the "Bolsa propia Universidade de Vigo" box under Exemptions during enrolment. This will defer payment of the academic service fees. Please note that if the grant is not awarded, you will be required to pay the full enrolment fee, and depending on the date, it may no longer be possible to split the payment into instalments. Full details of these grants are available in the Grants portal.
  • In addition, if you have been awarded a general MEFP grant, you will not need to pay for the credits you are enrolling in for the first time. If you plan to apply for this grant, you must tick the “Ministry of Education grant” box under Exemptions during enrolment. This will also defer payment of the academic service fees. Please note that if the grant is not awarded, you will need to pay the fees, and in some cases, you may no longer be eligible to pay in instalments.

If fees are not paid within the established deadlines, a 10% surcharge will be applied to the outstanding amount. In addition, the academic record will be temporarily suspended, resulting in the following consequences:

  • Limited access to the student virtual office.
  • No issuance of academic certificates or degree diplomas.
  • Applications for late enrolment will not be processed.
  • No possibility to cancel or amend your enrolment, or to request a transfer of academic records.
  • No enrolment in subsequent academic years or processing of any other request related to your academic file.

Temporary suspension does not affect your academic progress regulations and does not prevent you from attending lectures, practical sessions, or exams.

To reactivate your academic record, you must visit your faculty’s administrative office to request a new payment slip and complete the payment.

If the outstanding amount is not paid by 31 May, your enrolment will be permanently cancelled by rectoral decision, with the above-mentioned restrictions. Permanent cancellation does not settle the debt, nor does it imply annulment of the enrolment or entitlement to a refund of any amounts already paid. The suspension will be lifted once the debt is paid in full.

When completing the enrolment process, you must tick the relevant boxes under “Exemptions and discounts” for those to which you are entitled (you may select more than one).

EXEMPTIONS TABLE

The condition entitling you to an exemption must be valid during the enrolment period, except in cases where it is still being processed.
