Undergraduate enrolment
How to enrol
Starting your studies
Click on this link if you are going to start a degree programme and have pre-enrolled at Nerta in accordance with the CiUG call schedule, or if you have been admitted to start your studies through credit recognition, a bridging course or by obtaining a vacant place.
Continuing your studies
If you are continuing your studies at the Universidade de Vigo and already have access to the academic portal, use the following link from 21 August to 12 September 2025:
Modifying enrolment
1st deadline for undergraduate enrolment modification: 22-26 September 2025
2nd deadline for undergraduate enrolment modification: 19-24 February 2026
At UVigo, the undergraduate student body is made up of new students, continuing students, mobility students (exchange programmes or visiting students) and graduates from foreign universities who come to complete the process of having their degrees recognised in Spain. Depending on the group you belong to, you will be assigned a type of enrolment with its own features and a modality that will determine your permanency status and progress, or your right to assessment and the possibility of combining other university studies.
Whether you are a new or continuing student, you will enrol for the entire academic year—as it is not possible to enrol on a semester basis. If you are a mobility student, you will enrol in accordance with the terms of your mobility agreement, and if you are coming to complete your educational requirements, you can choose from the options offered by the Ministry of Universities that are available at the Universidade of Vigo.
When you enrol, you are required to obtain and maintain an active email account at institucional@alumnado.uvigo.gal and to update your mobile phone number and contact details in accordance with the principle of accuracy set out in the European Data Protection Regulation for the purposes of any mandatory electronic communications and notifications.
Official enrolment process
Enrolment is carried out through the academic portal in the virtual, whether you are a new student or continuing your studies. In addition to managing your enrolment, the self-service system allows you to check your personal, academic and financial details. When you log in, you will need to identify yourself using any of the valid means.
If you are in any of the cases listed below, you must enrol in person at the administrative unit of your centre:
- if, for justified reasons, you are unable to register via the self-service system
- if you are entering the Marín Naval Military School (CUD)
- if you are completing complementary training requirements (known as RFC)
- if you are a national or international mobility student
Once you have completed the process, you can only reverse it with a favourable decision from the Rector in response to an express request for total cancellation of your enrolment.
From the academic portal, provided you do not have restricted access, you will be able to select elective subjects in order of preference (when this is what has been established in your study plan), modify your enrolment within the corresponding deadlines, and carry out the procedure for adapting to a new study plan, among other things.
Change in the attendance regime
If you are a new or continuing student, your attendance regime will be full-time when you enrol. If, for any duly justified circumstance, such as those indicated in Article 3 of the regulations on attendance and progress, you wish to change to part-time attendance, you must initiate the procedure on the online portal (sede electronica). You must expressly request part-time student status at the time of enrolment and, if applicable, you must renew it each time you re-enrol.
When you receive a favourable decision, you must adjust your enrolment within the due period and in the way described.
Modification
You can modify your enrolment by adding, removing, or replacing subjects through the academic portal. If your access is restricted or your enrolment is inactive, you will not be able to make any changes. During the first period, you can modify any subject you are enrolled in, and during the second period, you can only modify subjects from the second semester.
You will not be able to make changes to your enrolment if you are a first-time enrolment student, unless your subjects are recognised and you are transferred to the continuing studies modality.
Total cancellation
Total cancellation of enrolment is an administrative procedure that involves the withdrawal from all subjects enrolled for the academic year in question. It will be processed by the Undergraduate Studies Management Service and decided upon by the Rector.
Total cancellation will not be possible in any case if your assessment has already been officially recorded or if you request it for aptitude tests, work experience, or the completion of a project or assignment. It will also not be possible, unless you can justify a serious unforeseen circumstance that occurred after the start of the course, if you were authorised to enrol after the deadline or if you have already been granted a total cancellation in the same academic year or two in the last three years.
You must submit your application on the online portal (sede electronica) within the deadlines established in the annual enrolment call. Notification will be made via the portal, so it is essential that you provide a valid telephone number and/or email address in the notification methods section.
When processing submitted applications within the deadline, we will check the status of the mandatory amounts established in the Decree on public fees. If these amounts are recorded as paid, we will approve the application and cancel the enrolment in the I.T. system at that time. If these amounts are not paid, in addition to approving and cancelling your enrolment in the I.T. system, a settlement slip will be generated with the outstanding amounts to be paid, which will accompany the decision. Failure to settle this debt will result in the corresponding amounts being demanded through legal proceedings against the assets of the party liable for payment, as granting total cancellation of enrolment does not imply exemption from any debt incurred.
Simultaneous official university studies
If you are a continuing student or bridge course: continuation student and wish to pursue more than one official university degree in the same academic year, you must previously have been granted simultaneous enrolment before formally enrolling for the second degree. This will not be granted if you are a first-time enrolment student or bridge course: start student.
You will initiate the request through the online portal. We will process it in the Undergraduate Studies Management Service and review it in accordance with the provisions of the ministerial order of 28 September 1984 (BOE of 9 October) and the UVigo regulations on simultaneous studies approved by the Governing Council on 19 July 2017.
For you to be granted simultaneity, you must wait until it has been verified that there are unfilled places on the requested degree at the end of the admission procedure for surplus places or in the bridge courses.
The right to assessment
Only if you appear on an assessment record will you be entitled to be graded, and for this you must be formally enrolled in the corresponding subject. Anyone who is not enrolled in the subject cannot be included in the official record of marks, and under no circumstances will enrolment be authorised after the date of publication of the record on the grounds of attending class or taking assessment tests, as this does not entitle the student to be included.
A single grade is established for each academic year, although there will be two opportunities for assessment in accordance with the academic calendar approved by the Governing Council.
End-of-degree asessment
You may sit the end-of-degree assessment if you meet the following requirements during the enrolment period:
- that you have a maximum of 24 credits remaining from previous courses.Credits from the End of Degree Project (known as the TFG), which can be enrolled in for the first time, will not be consideredin this calculation.
- that the minimum amount of time required to prepare for the TFG defence can be guaranteed, bearing in mind that each ECTS credit at the Universidade de Vigo represents 25 hours of work, it is necessary that from the start date of the academic year to the date of the TFG defence, a minimum of 4 weeks elapse for a 6-credit TFG (6 ECTS = 150 hours = 4 weeks) and 8 weeks for a 12-credit TFG (12 ECTS = 300 hours = 8 weeks).
The centres will verify that the requirements for authorising the presentation and defence of the TFG are met and will establish the procedures for submitting and defending the final degree projects within the limits of the official academic calendar.
If you do not present the project, you will be able to take the ordinary and extraordinary assessments. If you take the tests and fail any subjects, you must choose one of them.
Ordinary assessment
You will take this at the end of each semester.
Extroardinary assessment
You will take this during the period indicated in the academic calendar.
With regard to this procedure, the centres will apply the provisions of Royal Decree 889/2022, of 18 October.
Depending on the option chosen when formally enrolling for RFC, the right to assessment will be as determined below:
Practical training period
The conditions for completing the practical training period will be established by each centre, with the duration in hours being equivalent to a number of credits for the subject (25 hours/credit). At the end of the practical training period, a report or project must be submitted to the tutor.
Aptitude test
Enrolment will entitle students to take two assessment tests per academic year, which will be held at the end of each semester.
Academic or technical project or assigment
This must be started and completed within the same academic year. The director will establish the objectives of the project and the line of work.
Academic years
Must be started and completed within the same academic year. Assessment will take place at the end of the course with a report or assignment.
