I am a mathematician working as a Professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics II of the Universidade de Vigo. My research is focused on non-commutative algebra and in particular on the study of algebraic structures with an interest in physics using categorical techniques. My main contributions are related to Hopf algebras and their generalizations such as quantum groups, weak Hopf algebras, quantum groupoids, Hopf quasigroups, weak Hopf quasigroups, etc. I was member of the Scientific Committee of the Galician Algebra and Computing Network (REGACA) and of the Spanish Network of Non-commutative Algebra (NcAlg). Currently, I am the main researcher of the CI7 group at the University of Vigo.
