Stella Program

The aim of this program is to provide mobility opportunities to administration and services staff by promoting one week work stays, from February to December, at any Latin American university belonging to the Compostela Group of Universities (GCU).

Universities from this group interested in participating in the Stella program, coordinated by the International Relations Office at the University of Vigo, have signed an agreement to express their desire to be an active party for developing the working stays initiative.

Participating universities every year announce vacancies from October to November , for work stays, indicating number of vacancies, services, offices or departments that are willing to take on administration and services staff, as well as the benefits provided by each institution. Mobility by university is fixed at a maximum of one person per year. The host university is obliged to pay for accommodation expenses. The Compostela Group of Universities has an annual budget of 26,000 Euros for this program.

The executive committee meets twice a year to decide on program issues and mobility aid, and is comprised of one representative from International Relations Office of the following universities:

  • University of Vigo (coordinator)
  • Masaryk University, Brno, the Czech Republic
  • University of Oulu, Finland
  • Erasmus Hogeschool Brussels, Belgium
  • Guadalajara University (Universidad de Guadalajara)
