Fluent English speakers for temporary positions in France with children
Since 1994, American Village Camps have run English language immersion programs in France for 7 - 17 year olds. We hire English speakers with experience with youth to bring English to life for our campers in a fun camp experience. You would play, teach, and converse with children all day long! We open camps across France, mainly in rural areas. Counselors are hired to work at any village location that is open during their employment.
TEFL Information
Working at our camps is a great short-term TEFL job., and even suits beginner TEFL teachers. It suits people who are looking to put what they have learned into place in an active environment. At our camps, the majority of the teaching takes place outside of the classroom! Counselors use skills like Total Physical Response throughout the day, while playing and supervising English learners during recreational activities. Practice classroom teaching (2h per day), lesson planning and using ESL Games at American Village Camps in France!

We seek...
- Fluent English speakers (C1 level to Native)
- Experience with children
- No criminal history
- High school diploma or higher
- CELTA / TEFL is not required but is a plus
- Energy, enthusiasm, friendly personality
- Organisation, teamwork, communication skills
What We Provide
Each overnight camp counselor receives a daily salary, as well as a €55 train travel defrayal to their camp. All housing and meals are covered during the contract with bedding included. These are shared quartes with other counselors. No fees to apply.
Work Autorisation
You are: an American, Canadian, British or Australian tourist, who would be within their 90 day Tourism Schengen Zone stay for the duration of hire a European national a non-EU national who possesses an EU visa or residency card - eligibility pending
Paid Position
In accordance with French regulations, the job of Camp Counselor is paid on a daily rate. Counselors generally work between 24 and 26 days a month. Overnight Camp Counselors : €1170 / month (45€ / day)
